Key Takeaways:

  • Agent Churn Costs Money: When agents leave, they often take future deal flow with them; Fello now quantifies this.
  • Revenue Recovery: A new addition to the Property Intelligence Report that tracks deals closed by former agents.
  • Suspend, Don't Delete: A new "Suspended" status allows you to remove access while retaining data and tracking future MLS activity.
  • Smart Rosters: Automated recommendations ensure every agent on your team is actually in your system.

Running a real estate team is rewarding, but it comes with a harsh reality: Agent turnover. It’s part of the business. But have you ever stopped to calculate the true cost of an agent leaving your team?

We aren't just talking about the hassle of off-boarding or the empty desk in the office. We’re talking about the production that happens after they leave — often utilizing the very leads, training, and database you provided.

At Fello, we believe your database is a high-value asset, and that asset shouldn't lose value just because a team member moves on. That’s why we are thrilled to announce a major update designed to turn agent churn into actionable data: Revenue Recovery and a revamped User Management system.

The Strategy: Why You Need to Watch the "Back Door"

Before we dive into the buttons and settings, let's talk about the strategy. In many teams, off-boarding is a reactive process: collect the keys, change the passwords, and delete the user from the CRM.

Here is the problem with that approach: When you delete a user, you often delete the intelligence associated with them. More importantly, you lose sight of the pipeline they built while they were under your roof.

A strategic team leader understands that the relationship (and the revenue opportunity) doesn't necessarily end when an agent resigns.

  • Referral Fees: Did that agent close a deal three months later with a lead you paid for? You are likely owed a referral fee and need a way to enforce your independent contractor agreement or non-compete.
  • Market Footprint: Are you losing market share to a specific competitor recruiting your agents?
  • Database Integrity: Are former agents working your leads?

You need a way to monitor this activity without stalking the MLS manually every morning. You need a system that tracks the “exit tax" of turnover so you can recover that revenue.

Introducing Revenue Recovery

This is the feature you’ve been waiting for. We can now show team leaders exactly how much production walks out the door when an agent leaves.

Located inside the Property Intelligence Report, Revenue Recovery tracks deals closed by former agents after they leave your team.

This is your "Aha!" moment. Instead of guessing what your former agents are producing, you can see the exact deal volume that walked out with the agent. It empowers you to reach out for those missing referral fees and truly understand your team's retention impact.

The How: Suspend, Don't Delete

To make Revenue Recovery work, we’ve changed the way you handle departing agents. In the past, you might have just deleted a user.

The Old Way: Delete User → Data lost forever.
The New Way: Suspend User → Revenue Recovery activates.

When an agent leaves, you will now set their status to Suspended.

  • Access: They immediately lose access to the platform.
  • History: We retain their data history.
  • The Big Win: We track their future MLS activity.

By suspending a user, you tell Fello to keep watching. If that suspended agent closes a buyer or seller transaction associated with their MLS ID, it automatically populates in your Revenue Recovery graph.

This Help Center article shows you exactly how to do it.

Smart MLS Settings & Recommendations

Finally, we’ve overhauled the Users screen to ensure you have 100% visibility over your roster. We know that sometimes, in the chaos of running a team, adding a new agent to your tech stack slips through the cracks.

  • Auto-Recommendations: Fello now scans MLS data for email domains (like @smithteam.com) to find agents you might have forgotten to invite.
  • Smarter Matching: We’ve improved the logic that links MLS IDs to Fello users automatically, so your data is cleaner and more accurate from day one.

Ready to stop the leaks?

For Current Fello Customers: It’s time to audit your off-boarding workflow. Reach out to your Success Manager or email success@fello.ai today. We’ll help you clean up your user list and ensure you are Suspending, not Deleting, so you never miss another referral fee.

For Real Estate Leaders: If you’re tired of training agents only to watch them take your potential revenue elsewhere, you need Fello. Book a Demo to see how we help you monetize your database — even the parts that leave the building.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does it cost money to keep a user Suspended in Fello?
A: Yes, a Suspended user will still count as a user seat. This is because the account is still tracking data for the former team member and receiving the benefit of Revenue Recovery.

Q: Can I change the date that Revenue Recovery starts tracking?
A: Yes. By default, tracking begins on the date you suspend the user. However, if an agent left two weeks ago and you are just now suspending them in the system, you can manually adjust the tracking start date to ensure you capture those interim deals.

Q: Where do I find the Revenue Recovery data?
A: Revenue Recovery isn’t a standalone report. It’s a new, dedicated block located inside your existing Property Intelligence Report.

Q: What happens if a Suspended user returns to the team?
A:
The Admin simply reactivates them. Their historic data is restored, and new deals start counting toward "My Deals" again, from that date forward.
