What are dynamic tags (input fields) in workflows?
Learn how to use input field to enable dynamic tags and how to apply them to contacts automatically using workflows.
When choosing tags to be applied as part of an action in a workflow, you have the option to create a new tag, select an existing tag, or apply a dynamic tag.
Dynamic tags allow you to apply tags to contacts with values that are fetched from their record at that particular time. For example, if you choose to apply the Record Status dynamic tag, the contact’s current status (Marketing or Non-Marketing) will be applied as a tag.
Here’s how to apply dynamic tags in workflows:
- Go to Workflows from the left sidebar.
- Start customizing a workflow.
- Click the + icon at the point where you want to apply tags.
- Select Add Tags to Contact.
- Press Insert Input Field list of the available dynamic tags (input fields).
- Select the required tags and press the Enter or Return key.
- Click Save.
A few points to note:
- Tags will not be applied if input fields are empty (e.g., the Sales Timeline tag will not be applied if a contact does not have a sales timeline).
- Input fields will only contain the current value when the tag is applied. So, if the value changes later after the tag is applied, the tag will not reflect the new value.
